Who We Are
In response to the tremendous need our area is facing, JCMAS was created to provide local mutual aid organizations with the items they most frequently need to distribute.
We collect donations of items (we currently do not accept money), and connect them to people who can get them directly into the hands of those who need them. As numerous mutual aid groups sprang up in response to the events of 2020, we found they needed storage space and the constant replenishment of items to give out. Through generous support of Mana Contemporary and Moishe’s Storage, we are able to receive and store items in large quantities. Through the donations of individuals in our communities, we are able to provide these supplies, free of charge.
JCMAS is 100% volunteer run and was started as a project by local Jersey City artist, Amy Wilson.
Our Outreach
Food Pantry
We currently have been staffing and stocking the food pantry at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Greenville, once a month. Over time we hope with more donations and volunteers that we will be able to increase the frequency of this distribution.
Direct Distribution
JCMAS distributes items to the community during the Sharing Place’s monthly distribution event. During this event JCMAS provides primarily baby items and hygiene items to the community.
Strengthening Local Groups
On a weekly basis JCMAS coordinates with local organizations that have their own outreach and distribution networks in the community to help provide them with their most needed items.
